In Studio Summer Art Program

Who is this for?

Children ages 8 and up

GarrettIn this program, the studio will be set up as a station based classroom.  The stations will change weekly or daily, depending on the class participation and the direction of the students. The children will be allowed to roam freely in the stations as to their preference, following appropriate distancing guidelines. Ideas will be suggested as to the use of materials as well as samples provided from previous programs. We want to create an environment that is free of strict art project based programs.  As always, the student is also allowed to paint with oils at the easels.  There will be two to three teachers every day, depending on enrollment.  These teachers will float freely from station to station, providing instruction and encouraging the students to expand their creative thinking.  Each student is expected to bring a box lunch and snack. Occasionally the children will be taken to Fort Beach or Crocker Park for lunch to explore for found objects for art projects (weather permitting). Students are dropped off at 9am and picked up at 1pm at the Acorn studio entrance. Classes run on a one-week basis. All art/craft materials provided by Acorn.
